Sunday Marin

Sunday 8am - 1pm, Year Round

Overview

The Sunday Marin Farmers Market is MAI’s largest market and the third largest farmers market in California. At summer’s peak, nearly 200 local farmers, specialty food purveyors and artisans come together to celebrate a vibrant local food movement. This market has grown tremendously since it opened in 1987, and has long been considered one of the premier markets in the state. Still, the market maintains its community roots, welcoming local eaters who religiously come to the market to take home the freshest foods of the season and to thank their farmers.

From the Manager

One can’t help but love a sunny summer morning at the farmers market! There is nothing better than ending a weekend (or starting a week) by spending a little time cruising through one of California’s largest markets. This time of year is special for all those who cherish the sight of colorful veggies (Happy Quail peppers, Madison Grower heirlooms, and The Peach Farms summer squash), the aroma of fresh flowers (Petal Pusher, Cypress Flowers, and Brookside Orchids) and the taste of an assortment of candy-like fruits (Diekman Farm peaches, Sartori strawberries, and K & J pears). If you’re like most, when you get overwhelmed with all the choices just start tasting everything. Trust that your senses will fill your shopping cart full of delicious goodies to get you through the week. Or if you’re like us and you like to ask a lot of questions, ask the farmer yourself. This interaction with the people who are putting the heart and soul back into our food is one of the most unique aspects of farmers markets.
